Rental Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are
Silk Road Rentals, 9 Demna Shengelaia St, Tbilisi 0167, Georgia. Contact: contact.silkroadrentals@gmail.com or +995 598 373 944.
2. Booking and confirmation
Enquiries made through this website are requests, not confirmed bookings. A rental is confirmed only once we reply and agree the vehicle, dates and handover arrangements with you. We aim to respond within a few hours.
These terms summarise how we rent. The signed rental agreement handed to you when you collect the vehicle is the document that governs your rental; where the two differ, the signed agreement applies.
3. Price, payment and deposit
The daily rate quoted includes casco insurance, unlimited mileage and winter tyres in season. Longer rentals are charged at the reduced daily rates shown on our fleet section. Payment is due before the rental begins, at handover. We accept euros (EUR), Georgian lari (GEL) and US dollars (USD), in cash or by card.
Delivery within Tbilisi is free of charge. Delivery to and collection from other parts of Georgia is available and quoted before you book.
We do not take a security deposit. No cash deposit is collected and no amount is blocked or pre-authorised on your card. You pay the agreed rental amount and nothing further, unless charges arise under sections 5 or 6.
4. Driver requirements
The main driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driving licence issued at least two years earlier. You will need to show the licence and a passport or ID at handover. If your licence is not issued in the Latin alphabet, please bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. Additional drivers must be presented and approved before they drive the vehicle.
5. Insurance and damage
All rentals include casco insurance covering collision damage, theft and third-party liability. Insurance does not cover damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, by an unapproved driver, or by deliberate or grossly negligent use of the vehicle. In those cases you may be liable for the cost of repair.
Our insurance is valid within the territory of Georgia only. It does not extend across an international border. If you drive the vehicle into another country, our cover ceases at the frontier and you are responsible for arranging valid insurance for that country — see section 6.
We photograph the vehicle with you at handover and again at return, and give you copies. If an accident occurs, contact us first and report it to the police, as an official report is normally required for any insurance claim in Georgia.
6. Fuel, fines and use of the vehicle
The vehicle is supplied with a set fuel level and should be returned at the same level. Traffic fines and penalties incurred during your rental remain your responsibility; in Georgia these are generally issued electronically after the event and passed on to you. Do not use the vehicle to tow, to carry passengers for payment, or to enter territories where insurance does not apply.
Taking the vehicle across an international border requires our written permission in advance, arranged before your rental begins. We permit travel to Armenia and Turkey on this basis. Because our casco cover stops at the Georgian border (section 5), you must purchase local third-party motor insurance for the country you are entering; this is sold at the border crossing. Driving abroad without it leaves you personally liable for any damage or claim.
7. Collection, return and cancellation
We deliver the vehicle to your location and collect it from wherever you finish, at times agreed with you in advance. Please let us know as early as possible if your plans change. Because no payment is taken at the enquiry stage — payment falls due at handover — cancelling a reservation beforehand costs you nothing; we simply ask that you tell us.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Georgia, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Tbilisi.
